MAKE OUT NOT WAR! New Posters for CODEPINK!

I was recently commissioned to develop a set of posters for the radical women of CODEPINK!

The posters were used at the Democratic National Convention, where I just returned from. They will also be used at the Republican National Convention. The CODEPINK newsletter reads, "CODEPINK and other grassroots activists from all over the country were so determined to take the message of peace to the Democratic National Convention. While Barack Obama barely mentioned Iraq in his acceptance speech, we were there all week long to bring a peace platform to the DNC! Yes, there were some places where we were not welcome (and even kicked out!) but most delegates embraced us with love and gratitude. They, too, are frustrated by the lack of leadership in our country when it comes to getting out of Iraq, and are ready to stand up for issues and not just candidates."

The four posters reflect CODEPINK's great ability to develop strong messaging that is in line with the events, in this case, the DNC and the RNC. While this was a challenging project for me, I was really happy to be able to work with a group of women organizers who were clear on their strategies for both conventions and who understood the power of art in framing an alternative message.
